Workin’ for the Weekend

Lately I’ve been feeling that I just get through the week to get to the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, my job is great and I’m learning lots, but with the weather getting nicer and with me getting over cabin fever, I CANNOT WAIT FOR WEEKENDS!

It probably doesn’t help that we’ve had two amazing weekends in a row. Two weekends ago we had a jam packed weekend. Being an introvert and knowing how much I need to recharge, I typically give myself Sundays to relax and be lazy and do solo things like read. This particular weekend did not allow for that so I was a bit nervous. Would I go into Monday morning frazzled and stressed out?

To my suprise, no. The weekend turned out fabulously. Saturday my mom and I went to a baby shower. The unique thing about this baby shower was that the baby was there! It was a first for me! My friends A&K adopted a baby girl in February and they had the shower in early March so little Brianna was the star of the show. It was adorable how A kept showing little B every gift as she unwrapped it.

After the baby shower we met back up with hubby, my dad, my brother and his girlfriend for Bunco night. We’ve been playing for quarters instead of dollars lately because we’re all strapped for cash! It was fun and I played the whole night wearing my ducky flannel pjs that Wendy gave me that day. I was cozy!

Sunday I met up with a former friend for lunch. Enough time has past to put things behind us (and she will be family come this summer…) so we just caught up on everything going on. In typical us fasion we did not discuss anything that hurt us – just swept it under the rug. Oh well. We’ll never be best of friends again but at least we can be friendly. There of course was some drama making me almost late for my movie date with hubby but all I’ll say is some things never change.

I raced home from that lunch to go with hubby to see the Watchmen. I actually volunteered to see it with him which shocked him! From the previews it looked fun and I am a sucker for super hero movies. So off we went. It was entertaining and now that hubby got his copy of the book back I may have to read it. This will also shock hubby!
