Our baby shower was held this past Saturday. We had it at our house, thinking that it would eliminate having to pack up our gifts and lug them back home and keep costs down. Of course, having it at your own home means you have to get your house sparkling and round up enough tables and chairs for everyone. It was a bit stressful and I almost had a breakdown. Ok, actually I DID have a break down!
In the end, we’re super happy with how the day went and all of the love we felt – we wouldn’t change a thing. We are truly blessed with wonderfully supportive and generous people in our lives. Seriously, I only have a few items on our list that we need to pick up ourselves before the arrival of Baby Boo!
A month ago I worried if all the snow would melt so people would be able to park on our street. Looking back, I have to laugh at this because any time my husband and I host anything – from our wedding to a BBQ in our backyard – the weather has ALWAYS been amazing. And Saturday it was warm, sunny and just an overall beautiful day in every sense of the word. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
Photos have been trickling in. Here’s a couple from that day (these are from my mom’s camera):
My brother’s girlfriend helped me with the gifts. While opening gifts we had a game going on where a timer would go off and whomever’s gift I was opening would get a prize. Here is the moment when the buzzer went off while I was opening my brother’s girlfriend’s gift :) And you can see the sign for Baby Boo that she and my brother made.
My immediate family :) Love this photo

It sounds like you had a fantastic baby shower! So much fun.
Thanks! It was a great time. I can’t believe it’s over.
Happy shower! I am throwing one in a few weeks for a friend :)
Can’t wait to hear how yours goes!
Looks like y’all had so much fun! Definitely not like some of the girls-only showers I’ve been to that feel like punishments sometimes. You’re getting so close!
It was important to us that the shower was not very traditional and I hate that it’s all about the mom to be. My husband is the father and should be celebrated too! He had a lot of fun with the men and after everything was done, they came back to join us which was really nice.
