I live in New England and I absolutely adore this time of year. Colorful leaves, the crispness in the air, bundling up in sweaters, hot apple cider and…apple picking! Can you believe that I’ve never actually gone apple picking before? A couple of former collegues (now friends) invited us on their annual apple picking trip to Karabin Farms and we had a lot of fun!
We had to take a tractor ride up to the apple orchard. Then we set out looking for the apple types we had in mind. I like Cortlands for my fritters…check back Wednesday when i share an awesome apple fritter recipe. My mom likes Mutsu for our candy apples. The orchard was already picked through, but we had a lot of fun picking the apples and eating them straight off the branch. Now I have to make fritters and a pie this week so the apples don’t go to waste!
So now we have something to do each year with little E. A little tradition. Hard to believe that next year she’ll be running around the orchard with us.

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun! I wish we had apple orchards around here. E’s outfit is adorable :)
Love it!!! we were just up there this past weekend! had to get some cider, now its time for me to make a pilgrimage to old mystic and clydes cider mill!!! love love love their hard cider!!
